RTA help

created your RTA? great! confused what to do next? don't worry :)...
1. although you have added your RTA to the directory, you still may have to wait a while in order to get members. this way add the advertisement into your journal and promote-friendly communities! ask around!
2. this is up to you! this gives people the chance to see what the RTA may be like. important questions to involve in your application survey are such ones like, "how many hours are you online?" and "what do you have to offer to the RTA?", etc. it is important to inform them of the amount of email as some people may not realize this and then leave after they start receiving the email. the welcome email is very important in getting everyone together and to start sending emails & making friends. it is a good idea to include RTA information and rules again, just so the members get a chance to go over them for the second time. include ideas of email to send, the list to use and encourage everyone to introduce themselves: the best way to do this is usually through everyone sending an introduction in a new thread as this gives the rest of the members a chance to reply rather than all the introductions getting tied up together in the welcome email.

here's a quick guide what to do:
- create your RTA name, genre & rules
- think about what you'll send out into the RTA (activities? surveys? things to get people talking. people are going to be shy at first, you need to get them talking...)
- add your rta into the directory
- post it around & get members
- create the application
- wait for people to contact you about it
- send them the form
- wait for it back, check it, see if they are right for the RTA
- wait for enough people & then start it!

wait, i'm stuck on my app!
you should probably make it something like this:

name, age, location?:
why do you want to join the RTA?:
what are your interests?:
blahblahblah... try & make questions that these possible members will want to answer :)
BEFORE you give them the application, in the same email you should probably tell them what an RTA is... just in case they are confused! therefore, i would recommend your application looks something like THIS. < click that to see a sample application.

great! i have 15 members, now what?
1. MAKE SURE THEY ALL KNOW WHAT AN RTA IS!!!!
2. collect the memberlist together so it looks like this: emailaddress, emailaddress, emailaddress
3. send the welcome email. make sure in the welcome email you give everyone the memberlist & MAKE SURE YOU ADD YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS ON IT! :]

stuck?

just ask :] you need a lot of time! ask ANY questions if you are still needing help.
